Samsung has withdrawn some time ago from the
notebook business, while the settled mostly in the high-end segment units have
never sold really well, they were often true eye-catcher when it comes to the
design. The step has then set to focus on the smart phone business, the South
Korean company. Since then it has been run by its own devices, some great
successes, lately it runs not quite his own wishes.
With Windows 10, Microsoft has fueled the PC
market again and manufacturers have released in recent months numerous very
interesting devices. Apparently Samsung will also be involved again and a
report, they would at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 (CES) in Las Vegas to
introduce two new ultrabooks.
The devices should carry the name Ativ Book 9
Lite and appear in a 13- and 15-inch version with a minimum of 6 different
models. In terms of hardware ranging from selecting an Intel Pentium 4405U up
to a Core i7 with either 4 or 8 gigabytes of memory. The devices will be
available in the display resolutions 1920 x 1080 and 3200 x 1800's. The smaller
model is to bring only 860 grams on the scale, while the 15-inch model should
be 1.3 kg.
The tablet, although we think it is a hybrid
with the keyboard dock, has been certified in these last days of WiFi-Alliance and
Bluetooth-SIG. And that's not all: last month a specimen was sent to India for
some testing and then be destroyed. The database import and export of Zauba
estimated the contents of the package around $ 455, and even if it is just a
price, makes us think that the device is a tablet to medium-high.
Specifications are still fragmentary, but the certification bodies confirm the
rumors circulating in recent months.
Samsung SM-W700 is a remarkable tablet: it
should be equipped with a processor Intel Core M (Skylake) to 14 nm, with 4GB
of RAM and display 12-inch Super AMOLED with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels
or even 3840 x 2400 pixels . There is one who has already dubbed "Surface
Pro 4 killers", and in fact the presence of the S Pen that connotes its
professional vocation. If we add to this the weight of just 600 grams and
thickness of 6.8 mm, you will understand that the new 12-inch Galaxy Tab could
give a hard time to Microsoft.
At the moment we do not know when will his
presentation, but we are confident that we will return to talk about it in a
few weeks at the CES 2016 or MWC 2016, which will be held in February in
Barcelona. Certainly, Windows 10 has rekindled interest in the users and
producers than ever before watching this OS with curiosity, especially for its
potential in the professional.
