As Gabriel Aul just announced via his Twitter
channel, the current IP build 10586.11 is now also available through the
Slow ring as part of the Windows Insider program. Such rapid release via the Slow
ring may not surprise particularly, finally, the new flagship Lumia 950 and
Lumia 950 XL (and also the Lumia 550) are also shipped with this version of
Windows 10 Mobile.
Here are some things that new IP Build have
fixed:
On the whole, the current build when it is
running very round and smooth and almost (!) Error-free, yet there is still
room for improvement.
- They have fixed the issue that caused the Start experience to become corrupted (garbled) after upgrading and restoring a backup from a phone that had a different resolution.
- You should now be able to set your default save locations via Settings > System > Storage and it will correctly reflect the current storage settings. Your SD card should no longer show up as a garbled name in Storage settings either.
- Moving apps to a SD card should no longer cause those apps to crash.
- They’ve made improvements to the Messaging + Skype app – through both app updates via the Store and also on the server side.
- This should be seeing less resuming/loading text when switching apps.
- The physical camera button should be working again if it wasn’t working for you before.
- Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably.
How Aul reported in the course of this, the
current flagships are not automatically part of the insider program and have
thus far refrain from further coming preview versions - what should change in
the near future but, most likely even before the appearance of another Preview.
